Do you know how your child is doing in class? Want to know his/her progress? Then look through your child's folders and notebooks for work that has been corrected and handed back. I strive to provide prompt feedback, which means that homework and tests are handed back within a day or two. Look in folders for math homework and graded tests, and through the reading & writing notebooks for my comments on what students are writing. Their work and my written feedback are both very revealing of how well students are doing and what they need to continue to work on.
